An incredible journey awaits you, as you run below the sheer walls of Smith Rock State Park, up the infamous Misery Ridge and below the steep flanks of Monkey Face. Then you will run out onto the Crooked River Grasslands where expansive views of the surrounding area and high Cascade peaks await. Total elevation gain is 5500ft and 5500ft of loss. 85% of the course is on single-track trails and 15% on double track and dirt roads. There are 4 fully stocked aid stations.

Here is the list of trails/roads used in the following order: Rim Rock Trail, Rope De Dope Trail, Canyon Trail, cross bridge, Misery Ridge Trail, R on Mesa Verde Trail, L on River Trail, cross bridge, access road, Rim Rock Trail, Rope De Dope Trail, Canyon Trail, road to river, cross bridge, L on River Trail, Summit Trail, Gray Butte Trail, Forest Service Road 1395, Forest Service Road 57, Cole Loop Trail, Gray Butte Trail, Burma Road, Wolf Tree Trail, cross bridge, access road to Rim Rock Trail to FINISH!!

AID STATIONS

There are 4 aid stations along the 50K course. Each will have the usual ultra food selection: Chips, cookies, PBJ, bananas, Spring Energy gels, water, soda and other items. All Alpine Running races are cupless, so be sure to bring a cup with you.

CUT-OFF TIMES

There is one cut-off time:

  • AS4 at 3pm

DROP BAGS

There are no drop bags.

PACERS

No pacers are allowed on the course - due to conditions of the permit.

CREW

Crew are welcome to help their runner at AS1 (start/finish). All other aid stations are off-limits to crew due to permit conditions.

PARKING

Due to limited parking at Smith Rock State Park, all participants must park off-site at DD Ranch. Parking will be FREE. A FREE shuttle will leave every 15minutes beginning at 5:30am on race morning. The last shuttle will leave DD Ranch at 6:30am. Please bring a change of clothes with you in a bag. The bag must have your bib # and full name on it. Bags will be stored at a designated location at the start/finish area.

A shuttle will pickup and drop off at Smith Rock State Park in front of the portable toilets. The shuttle will leave the State Park approx. every 20minutes.

Directions to DD Ranch from Terrebonne.
